Yes! iCloud sync uses Apple's CloudKit framework with end-to-end encryption. Your data is:

  • Encrypted in transit and at rest
  • Stored in your private iCloud account
  • Only accessible by you through your Apple ID
  • Never accessible by Debits developers

For more details, see our Privacy Policy.

My data isn't syncing between devices. What should I do?
  1. Ensure you're signed in with the same Apple ID on both devices
  2. Check that iCloud sync is enabled on both devices in Debits Settings
  3. Ensure you have an internet connection
  4. Go to iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud and ensure iCloud Drive is enabled
  5. Try toggling iCloud sync off and on again in Debits

Does Debits track my data or share it with third parties?

No. Debits is privacy-first:

  • All data is stored locally on your device (or in your private iCloud)
  • We don't collect any analytics, usage data, or personal information
  • We don't use third-party tracking or advertising SDKs
  • We never share your data with anyone

Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

Troubleshooting

I'm trying to unlock Premium but it says "unable to load products"

This can happen for several reasons:

  1. Check your internet connection: In-app purchases require an active connection
  2. Restart the app: Close Debits completely and reopen it
  3. Check App Store status: Visit Apple System Status to ensure the App Store is working
  4. Sign out and back in: Go to iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Media & Purchases → Sign Out, then sign back in

If the issue persists, please contact us at support@debitsapp.com with the exact error message.

The app is crashing or freezing

Try these steps:

  1. Force quit the app: Swipe up from the bottom and swipe Debits away
  2. Restart your device: Power off and on your iPhone/iPad
  3. Update the app: Check the App Store for any available updates
  4. Update iOS: Go to Settings → General → Software Update
  5. Free up storage: Ensure you have at least 1GB of free space

If crashes continue, please contact support with your iOS version and device model.

I lost my data after uninstalling the app

Important: Uninstalling Debits will delete all local data permanently.

To prevent data loss in the future:

  • Enable iCloud Sync in Settings before uninstalling
  • Use CSV Export (Premium) to create backups

If you had iCloud Sync enabled, reinstall the app and turn on iCloud Sync again to restore your data.

Data & Export

How do I export my data? (Premium)
  1. Go to Settings
  2. Scroll to Data Management
  3. Tap Export Data
  4. Choose to export bills, income, or both
  5. Select where to save the CSV file (Files, iCloud Drive, etc.)

The CSV file can be opened in Excel, Numbers, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet application.

Can I import data from another app?

Currently, Debits doesn't support data import. All bills and income must be entered manually. We're considering this feature for future updates.
